Start Here

Make sure you have these required documents​

  • Photo ID (I assume you guys all have a driver's license…)
  • FAA medical certificate (if you do not have one, find an aviation medical examiner here and apply for a first class if able)
  • Student pilot’s license (if you do not have one apply for one here, then send me the FTN number the application generates)
  • An endorsement from me (which you will get when you are ready to solo)

Once the administrative items are in progress, start studying! Below are some links that I find useful.

Educational Stuff​

  • PPL/CPL and IFR Lesson Plans - I wrote these to help me review for CFI, hopefully they are useful!
  • ERAU Youtube - ERAU has some excellent visuals in their videos and is my favorite youtube channel for educational flying videos. Sort their videos by most popular.
  • Flight Insight Youtube - this guy has an ability to take complex topics and explain them super clearly
  • Boldmethod - check out the “CFI Tools” page or just read some articles
